Description:HY-LUX WATERBORNE INDUSTRIAL ENAMEL is a low voc, quick-dry enamel based on high quality acrylic resin with excellent adhesion properties to a wide variety of metal substrates and wood products. This product dries to a smooth and hard surface. It is also available in clear and a wide selection of colors and tint bases. It may be applied by brush, roller or spray. 1200 White is USDA approved for use as a coating subjected to incidental food contact.Benefits:• Fast drying • Good flexibility • Outstanding adhesion • Easy application • Non-flammable• water reducible • Meets clean air standards- Check local V.O.C. requirements for your intended application
Compatible Primers:• Ellis 600, 1200, 4400 & 7900 Series
SURFACE PREPARATION:
GENERAL: Surface must be free of oil, grease, dirt,wax, silicone, powdery or scaling rust, loose or peeling paint and all other foreign matter. Smooth slick surfaces should be sanded to promote adhesion. Prime bare and uncoated surfaces with one of the following Ellis Primers: 600 Solvent borne Series, 1200
Waterborne Series, Maximus 4400 Series or Maximus7900 Series.
NON-FERROUS METALS: Clean the surface thoroughly. Apply a prep coat of Hy-Lux 690 Low VOC Etching Filler as a first coat over the non-ferrous metal to etch the surface and promote adhesion. Allow 30 minutes to dry and follow with an appropriate Ellis Primer within 8 hours. After 8 hours, the Hy-Lux 690 Low VOC Etching Filler should be lightly sanded before applying the first coat of Ellis Primer.
WOOD PRODUCTS: Clean wood thoroughly. Prime and seal with one coat of Hy-Lux Primer or HY-LUXWATERBORNE INDUSTRIAL ENAMEL (tinted close to finish color, if desired).
PAINTED SURFACES: Be sure all loose and peeling paint is completely removed, and the surface is clean. Remove excess chalkiness with a wire brush or by sanding. Featheredge and spot prime with Ellis Primer as needed.
MIXING:Mix thoroughly before use and/or after thinning.
THINNING: Ready to apply as packaged, but if thinning Is Required, add up to 20% of 7999 Waterborne Universal Flow Agent. Do not over thin; sagging mayresult.
APPLICATION: Apply 2 coats, 1 to 2 hours apart
